About streetnation

How we started , and where we're going...

StreetNation's Story

Karen and Nadeana meet in 2007 while both working as estate agents. It soon became apparent that they shared a love of dance and had come from those backgrounds. The conversation began about launching a dance school. They knew they didn’t want to go the route of a ballet school but wanted a more free style that encouraged creativity within children and that was open to all abilities.
StreetNation was born and lunched in March 2009 with just 2 teachers (Karen & Nadeana) They began with 2 street dance classes that were held in a studio above a tile shop in Haslemere. Their opening day was a success and the free trial session opened to 100 children attending.

Our ethos

Our Ethos has always been that creativity is important to the health and wellbeing of children and young adults. StreetNation firmly puts children in an environment that encourages expression of self. We believe in a no pressure space to build friendships and form bonds all the while staying fit and healthy. StreetNation prides itself on supporting the children that attend in not only a physical way but emotionally. While we remain structured in our approach and encourage commitment to the classes we believe our lessons have a vibe that is unmatched, and the company has a feeling of true community and family.

Our vision

Our vision for StreetNation is to be able to replicate the success of its founding area across the UK. We hope for a company that continues brings dance to the many and inspires all age groups. Our USP is the ability to create community, belonging and confidence within our classes whilst being a channel for the children’s passion for dance.
